17/10/2006 PBE wins with Centrica at BIFM awards
Centrica's "Intelligent Buildings that can really talk" entry was the winner of the BIFM Award for Innovation 2006. The innovation involved creating a central point of visibility for building services and utilities in Centrica facilities across the UK and was created using PBE Systems' Process InSight and Citect Nexa. PBE Systems was responsible for design and integration of the system.

The Process InSight modular control solution from PBE Systems combines GSM and web technologies to provide remote monitoring and control functions of manufacturing plant, alarms and equipment directly to a mobile phone using SMS text messages, Internet or PC.

25/05/2005 Operator Panel with added modem support
Red Lion's G3 operator panels now provide support for both dial-in and dial-out modem connections by means of the industry standard PPP protocol. These TCP/IP based connections can be used to dial the Internet in order to send alarm messages, or to receive incoming connections from a central station. Once a connection is made and the identity of the other party is established, the caller may use the G3's unique Virtual Panel facility to remotely monitor and control the unit with only a web browser.

The Modbus protocol has become a de-facto standard for data exchange and information communication in industrial network applications targeting facility automation markets. In view of integrating with SCADA/PLC/DCS systems as a complete remote I/O solution, Advantech is introducing the ADAM-4000 Modbus series, consisting of ADAM-4017+ analog input, ADAM-4018+ T/C input, ADAM-4015 RTD input, ADAM-4024 analog output, ADAM-4051/4055 digital input/output, and ADAM-4068 relay output modules.
